The inauguration of the online training courses on Strategy Formulation and Execution (SFE) and Transformation of Postal Organization (TPO) was conducted on 26 April 2021 at 09.30 hrs. (Bangkok time). The inauguration was presided over by Mr. LIN Hongliang, the Secretary General of APPU. Ms. Kwanjai Kajornwutthideth, Manager Administration & APPU Affairs, Ms. YU Yan – TPO Course Director, and Ms. Padmaghanda Mishra – SFE Course Director also participated in the function. These two courses will be running from 26 April to 7 May 2021.
The SFE Course has been attended by 14 participants from 11 countries namely Afghanistan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, India, Kiribati, Laos, Myanmar, Nauru, Pakistan, Solomon Islands, and Thailand. Meanwhile, the TPO has been attended by 12 participants from 11 countries namely Bangladesh, Cambodia, Cook Islands, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, Thailand and Vanuatu.
The topics of the Strategy Formulation & Execution Course cover the Introduction to Strategy Formulation; Vision, Mission & Corporate Goals; Strategic Imperatives; Overview of UPU and UPU Strategy; Strategy and Leadership; Developing E-commerce strategy; E-Business and innovation Opportunities for Posts; E-Commerce Business fulfillment and Logistics Solutions; and Operational Readiness for E-Commerce.
Whereas the transformation of Postal Organization course’s objectives are to equip the participants with the concepts of; New Generation of Customers and the Mail; the 5G and IoT revolution; The Drive to Digitize; Investing in Last Mile Transformation; Delivery in City Centers, and the Social Role of the Post; and Reducing Emission in the Postal Sector.
APPC believes that the direct impact of both courses of providing the opportunity for participants to meet and exchange the ideas and information from these two online training courses will make the significant worthwhile of the knowledge and experiences that will enable postal operators to adopt the new normal and meet the demands of customers.
