The APPU celebrated the 50th Anniversary of APPC both physically and virtually on 10 September 2020, which is exactly the establishment day of APPC 50 years ago.
The ceremony was participated by number of APPU members and partners. There were distinguished guests from MDES, Thailand Post, UPU Regional Project Coordinator Office, ITU Regional Office, WCO Regional Office and APT joined the ceremony physically. Apart from this, UPU IB, DHL, Swiss Posts, PRIME, etc. remotely participated in this event. Besides, this function was on Facebook live which there were about 800 audiences had celebrated the ceremony at the same time.
In this special occasion, various speakers had shared their gratitude and good memories as being a part of APPC in many aspects, as the list follows:
- Phuwieng Prakhammintra, Deputy Permanent Secretary, MDES of Thailand as one of the founders;
- Metoki MASAHIKO, Japan Post as the representative of GB members;
- Subhash Sinha as the representative of former lecturers;
- Carl Schelfhaut, DHL as the representative of Sponsors;
- Zhao Shuanliang, Vice President of Shijiazhuang Posts and Telecommunication Technical College as the representative of partners;
- Derek Osborn as the representative of visiting lecturers;
- Vira Timbaci, CEO of Vanuatu Post as the representative of former participants; and
- Pranoy Sharma as the representative of former participants.
The birthday cake cutting and singing happy birthday song together with distinguished guests were included in the program.
