The first two online training programs of 2021 on Advanced Business Management (ABM) and Service Quality Management (SQM) was taken place on Monday 18 January 2021 at 09.30 hrs. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. LIN Hongliang, Secretary General of APPU. Ms. Kwanjai Kajornwutthideth, Manager Administrations & APPU Affairs, Ms. Yu Yan, the ABM Course Director, and Ms. Padmaghanda Mishra, SQM Course Director also participated in the ceremony.
The ABM was attended by 10 participants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, Maldives, Mongolia, Solomon Islands, Thailand and Tonga. The course objective is to equip the participants with the concepts of Global postal environment and global postal strategy; best practices and successful business transformations from Posts and other organizations; innovation management in Posts; change management in the VUCA world (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity); employee engagement for innovation and improvement. The ABM participants will be given a chance to participate the “Strategic Marketing Management” workshop during the second week of the training course.
The SQM was attended by 7 participants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Solomon Islands and Thailand. The course contents cover the aspects of: fundamentals of quality and UPU Quality Control System (QCS), introduction to quality concepts in post offices; cost and quality management; total quality management and empowerment; PDCA methodology & process management and establishing service standard; SQM and quality circle- setting up quality circles and working in a team; quality of service linked to remuneration; UPU quality audit and certification; what quality means in post office, Mail process planning and its relevance; system approach to quality; and six sigma breakthrough strategies-project based improvement. The SQM participants will get an opportunity to attend the workshop on “Leadership Management” which will be conducting from 25 to 29 January 2021.
